Simon Says Stamp Guest Art - 'Sunny Days'

Awe Hi there lovelies

It's time for another Monday challenge up over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog

And YeY!!!  I'm still guesting over there!!!

This weeks fabulous challenge is 'Felt That'  and I went with the awesome black wool felt - or to give it it's full name Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush Wool Felt Sheets - black - go take a peek at the full range, there are some lush, lush color combos - PRESS HERE

As you can see above I started out rough 'n' quick painting my background with various (what I call 'hot toned' shades) of Tim Holtz Distress Paint - there's a few splatters in there too!

This is the reverse side that i painted with more vibrancy, just so there was a difference, I used the Distress paints again and added a little green and golden hue, plus a few splatters with water mixed with the tiniest amount of Dina Wakley White Gesso

I stamped out probably 8 to 10 of these beautiful flowers from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden Cling Stamp Set using Ranger Ink Jet Black Archival Ink - I looooves fussy cutting so cutting them all out was a pleasure whilst watching tv (hahaha)

Gesso'd a hunk of wood I found in my shed and added a few splatters with one of my fav tools - Tim Holtz Distress Splatter Brush eeeeeep!

Above and below you can see how I layer and bend the layers of petals - I also added a few black cotton stitches in there too with my sewing machine :-)))

You can see how the TimHoltz Sizzix Mixed Media Thinlits Die easily cut through the Spring Plush felt...

and the Tim HoltzNewsprint and Type Cling Stamp with Ranger's Jet Black Archival Ink.

I randomly stamped the background and pop everything into place before i adhere anything - I like to see the balance building.

Once I had adhered everything in place I coated the 'Felt' with a random and light coat of Gesso.

And once the Gesso on the felt had dried i applied a few different colors of Distress Paint.  Also I dotted some Distress Paint right at the top of my wood and then standing my wood block vertically spritzed with water, eeeeep! Drip heaven!!!

eeeeeeep!
splatter fun and doodle time - out came the uber amazing Tim Holtz Distress CrayonsRanger Fude Ball (which i find works perfectly over the Distress Crayons) Ohhhh and not forgetting Tim Holtz Ideaology Occasions Small Talk Stickers

Here are a few more 'beauty shots'...

Awe i soooooo can't wait to see what you all create this week - I hope you've enjoyed my Sunny Days' inspiration and for some more amazing inspiration go see all the artwork by the Design Team - tis droolworthy...
And of course as always Simon Says Stamp will give away $50 voucher to shop at their store!
