Ranger Inspired Altered Art Tag Book

Hi there lovely friends x

Another little - well i say little (hee hee hee) post for you to peep at x

Hope you enjoy x

I have been playing around with various mediums and oh boy having a ball - that's why no posts as I've dabbled in this 'n' that and gone straight onto the next idea - its time to start creating now.
A new Tim Holtz 'Tattered Floral' bloom I've created - post to follow soon x

And I went to a fabulous workshop at Art from the heart - the tutor for the 2 days (lucky me and the lovely ladies who also attended) was the amazing Kaz Hall.  Click the lilac* font (to follow) if you would like to peep at Kaz's *all-things-Ranger kaz-style* truly beautiful Tag book - such a clever idea and her front cover with the Dragonfly is gorgeous x
Thank you Kaz

(the weekend was full of tips, techniques, fun and laughter - met and made some lovely new friends and not to mention the good old fashioned brew in a tea pot with cup and saucer, never-ending choccy supplies and Ali (thank you) is one mean cook - dinner was fab - what more can I say a wonderful weekend!)

So here is my tag book.....
.....and close-up's too!!
A 'Trio of Autumnal Olde English Roses'  - fallen because of the late Autumnal nip in the air, battered, bruised but always beautiful. (I took inspiration from the last few roses that were still in bloom in my garden - only sorry you can's smell them too!)

I love using Chitchat stickers to add - well chitchat to my work.

I assembled all my ribbons, findings, chitchat, rub-ons, Autumnal Rose leaves and Autumnal Roses onto a # 8 Ranger craft tag - before adhering to my finished  (thoroughly inked-up tag book)

Look at how plump my tag book is - we created sooooo many tags that have soooo many fabulous Ranger-inspired Kaz style tips and Techniques x
I covered my tag in clear gesso - placed the strip of tiny metal blooms on the edge and covered the whole tag including the metal blooms with kraft coloured tissue paper - applying more gesso as required.
When dried  - I used a mixture of  Dylusions-inks-by-Dyan-ReaveleyTim-Holtz-Distress-ink-pads,  Tim-Holtz-Distress-stains  and Tim-Holtz-Distress-paints to cover the tissue paper - again when dried i rubbed off a little of the paint/inks from the metal blooms so you can spy a tiny sparkle from the metal.
I created the background for the tag book useing the above products plus one of the fabulous new Tim Holtz stencils-'stripes'

The Water marks you can spy on the spine of the tag book were created after I had assembled my 'inky' book - I just sprayed a little water onto my craft mat and held the spine in it - it soaked up the water a real treat and pushed all my lovely inkiness outwards. I have used Tim-Holtz Remnant-Rubs-numbers on the spine of my book, distressed and scratched them a little once they were firmly rubbed in x

Now I've completed my first Tag book and so thoroughly enjoyed it so much i can't tell you!
So......
.......I have decided to carry on and create more tag books filled with tags of inspiration as I craft.

This above book i have dated October 2013 on the front cover (used the rub-on's Tim Holtz)
And on the spine Tag Book No. 1
It's called 'Autumnal Rose' (written in the Tim Holtz Chitchat stickers)

Well putting this post together today has been hard work (but my pleasure) - blogger is proper playing up today and 'Trick or Treat' night has gone! Or so I thought!

So if you think my order of piccys and blurb is disjointed its down to the gremlins - only letting me insert where they see fit - Arrggghhhh!  (hee hee hee) i've got to laugh to stay sane - whatever that is...
