A Little Ray of Springtime Sunshine.

Hi there friends......

Lovely glimpses of springs golden sunshine rays keep dancing across my craft table, outside the abundance of new life sprouting from the earth sooo very desperate to be kissed by the warming friendly sunshine has inspired me to create this warming wall hanging filled with the promise of spring x

And.....
It will be winging it's way over to my/our lovely friend Julie Dodds sooooon
Cos it's that time of the year again

Happy Birthday Julie x
MWAH
xoxo

Ingredients and Method x
I used Tim Holtz's AMAZING tattered-florals die to create the two lush blooms -
I LOVE  Tim's Tattered Florals die
It has 4 yummy flowers
All different sizes
Perfect for all our creations
YeY!!!

the materials I used were......

........scrunched up old brown paper bags
........ tissue paper
........raw rough and smooth linens
........various patterned papers

After die cutting I......
........layered all these together - a pinch here and a pinch there make the blooms burst and radiate upwards and outwards x I love to work the papers in my warm hands too , curling, scrunching, bending till i break dowm the paper's fibres - this gives a lovely worn out tired and old feel to the flowers - hence tattered x

A hot glue gun was my best friend when I adhered all the layers together x

In the centre-ish of one flower i spritzed it with Dylusions ink-spray (lemon) and glued in natural string knotted on the ends.
The other flower has tiny pieces of scrunched up tissue lengths sat in it's centre.
Both blooms have their petals just barely brushed with Tim Holtz distress-paint (mustard seed)

For the leaves (foliage) I have used Tim's FABULOUS tattered-leaves die
Three different shaped leaves
All tattered
'N' ready to rock our creations
YeY!!!

and i stamped out a heart
(a much loVed and used stamp set by Dyan Reaveley)
I think it mingles quite nicely betwix the leaves

The paper I die cut the leaves from is.....
echo park - Primer - This & That
I picked the cards with the words 'growing and special' to die cut the leaves from
And cos I loVes it soooo much
and cos i knows I'll be using it soooo much
(it is such a useful paper)
I've bought 7 sheets to date - WHOOPS!!!

See the tail-end of the heart - I've bent it purposely to add a little extra character!

The tag  -super-scallop-crescent tag (sizzix)
I covered with patterned paper (from my stash)
I created a pocket halfway down too
The pocket was for the seeds packet (local garden centre)

The ticket (own stash) has the sentiment from Tim Holtz's Words-for-thought stamp set x
and if you peep closely you can spy Tim's memo-pin with the fab chit-chat stickers

The heart was hand drawn
and covered with patterned paper (from my stash)

The stamp is an old stamp that I always go back to.....
Coloured in with various mediums

Now to add a little interest to the.....
leaves, heart, tag and seed packet I.....
used the WoWzer brand new stamps from the fabulous Sarah Hurley Shop
.....the Borders set and the Story-Teller stamp set
 with distress inks
antique linen
bundled sage
gathered twigs
squeezed lemonade
The leaves look amazing with the Borders stamped on them - like the leaves veins!!!
after a quick spritz or 2 or 3!!!

i then with the mustard seed distress paint
over-stamp and catch the edges using...
the stamp Laugh by Kaisercraft

Lastly I added the frilly bits
Ribbons
Seam binding from Crafty Ribbons
To get the ribbon to crinkle sooo well....
.....and perfectly coordinate with your creation...
....spritz the seam binding with (desired colour) of Ranger perfect pearls mists
scrunch up into a small tight ball......
.....and hold together with a snappy wooden peg!!
I leave this to dry on my radiator for speed
The beauty of using the perfect pearls mists is you can alter the seam binding's tone if needed
and give the scrunched up seam binding a washed out but shimmery look  x

Sooooo
it's back to the craft room for me
I've got 2 creations on the go at the minute
and oh soooo many ideas bursting to get out
(we deffo need more hours in the day!!!)

OH and you'll be pleased to know
(if you recently won on my 'FFFC!!!' post)
it's a trip to the post office tomorrow - YEY!!!

and thank you for all your lovely comments
I really, really appreciate them all x
Sending huggles
