Tattered Flowers Tutorial - Lilac Hearts

On a string - 'Hearts, Flowers 'n' Candi'
From me......Karen...

A four piece wall hanging using the 'love me do chipboard hearts' that I have designed - these hearts have sooooo many uses and I will be showcasing various gorgeous makes over the next few weeks x (...and you'll adore the new shaped card that goes with this set that will be coming out shortly - VALENTINES day and MOTHERS day sorted.....I promise you....)

As promised - a mini tutorial (mainly piccy's!!!)

To create one of the gorgeous Tattered flowers you will need...
  • Chipboard hearts
  • 'Tattered Flowers' - Tim Holtz and your chiose of paper stash/pearl cardstock
  • pokey tool
  • Embossing tools and an embossing mat
  • 3d glue
  • tacky glue
  • spray varnish
  • fine iridescent glitter

So.....
I use 3 of the die-cut tattered flowers to create 1 bloom.
Curl the petals of 2 of the die-cut flowers around the pokey tool.

After curling - place your 2 flowers onto the embossing matt and start to press down around the centre area of your flowers with a large headed embossing too  - you need to form a 'sump' in the middle of your blooms. And as you can see from my piccys I create 1 flower 'sump' deeper than the other.

Pop a little glue in the base of the shallowest 'sump'  flower and adhere flowers together.

Now take your 3rd die-cut flower and cut into 6 'triangular' petals.

With 4 of the petals using a pokey tool I curl round the top 'widest' edges. The bottom point I fold up to form a flap.
The remaining 2 petals are curled tightly around the pokey tool - (used for the flower centres)
So... to finish 'building' your flower pop a little 3d glue into the centre.

Now carefully place the 4 'larger' curled petals  into the 3D glue
(centre 'pointed flap' of the curled petal sits into the glue)
Again add a little more glue in the centre of your flower.

Add the final 2 tightly curled petals.

Have a little play and fiddle round with your flower before it dries till you are happy with the shape of your flower.

Now you can spritv 'n' glitz.  I gave my blooms 2 coats of varnish and glitter.

The end result when dried - A SPARKLISCIOUS bloom.
You need 10 'sparkliscious' tattered blooms (8 large 2 medium) to sit on the large Love Me Do chipboard shape. Then you can create a wreath full of gorjossity X

Hope you have enjoyed the mini tute again ( piccys 'n' a few words lol)

Have a lovely Christmas everyone
(I know I will cos there's soooo much extra crafting time and great TV to watch whilst creating)YeY!!!
